Pages of Life

lyrics

Dont judge a book by its cover read the ink of the pen
sometimes its hard to see the stories kept locked within
Every ending is a beginning in a moment a new chapter
inspired by the tears inspired by the laughter

Pages of life in a notebook held tight
A list of lines holding strong bearing the weight of what I write
Cause I come heavy with words constructed into stories I tell them
To a mass of nodding heads I flutter behind eyes like rem
Sleep to lonely nomad backpacker I speak
Floating on wind with verbs and nouns I will reach
Seek to spread the message that you are not alone
Took long to learn that lesson thats why I turned myself to stone

See while I Rock please know thats more than a metaphor
For how I rhyme or I write no it means so much more
I closed myself off hand built the barricade
Chained and locked key forgot but the pain would never fade
So now I pour myself through pen turn paper to song
Inspired by whats transpired in sixteen bars I’ll right my wrongs
Building a bible of my babble cornerstone of my castle
I’m the one the builder refused and now the fire beneath the mantle

For I burn with the intensity of hells hottest flame
Float higher than the heavens amongst angels I have fame
Taming all my demons expel the darkness from within me
Glad scars linger and don’t fade like memory
Its the things lived through that makes us what we are
I let em sculpt this rock into a rising star
Statuesque in phrase but never in the movement
Chosen stone heir to throne and with voice I will prove it

Dont judge a book by its cover read the ink of the pen
sometimes its hard to see the stories kept locked within
Every ending is a beginning in a moment a new chapter
inspired by the tears inspired by the laughter

Stand before you as man ain’t got the cleanest slate
But i now have the strength to chip away at what I hate
learning to right my wrongs tho i still stumble and fall
Knowing now never again will i ever miss the call
Cause Im thru with regrets and clinging to a life I'll never have
Whats gone is gone and you can't change the past
Got allow myself forgiveness not just for me but for others
Release the stress and my grip upon the grudges
That clutch my soul so tight cause of too many sleepless nights
Got me fighting with myself so with sword I will write
Unknot my thoughts with the letters of strategically placed alphabet
And on my blood sweat and tears best believe I'm gonna bet
Everytime I spit a line the pages start to pour in
Holding accounts of triumph, good times, dark days and those of sin
A tome of how I roam bound in flesh carved in bone
Map of the paths and trails I hope one day lead me home
